• Do you have skills that may help us connect to donors? legal, sales, communication, administration, research, secretarial, business, corporate, financial, public relations?
• Can you help identify needs in our communities for youths, working people, families, seniors, farm families, employers?

If you have said yes to the first three questions above, and one or more of the others, then you may be the one to make a difference.

Yorkton & District Community Foundation, Inc. was founded in October 2019 by the people above: Larry Pearon, Victor Surjik, Rob McDill, Lisa Washington, Sharon Tropin, Trevor Plews, Les Arnelien, Ray Bailey and Andrew Rae. Missing from the photo are Matt Zerbin and Gerry Ann Fraser. 

This is a volunteer working board; there are no paid staff. That doesn't mean that we don't have help. Local professionals are quick to lend a hand and as a  member of Community Foundations of Canada there is the experience of their professionals and 192 community foundation to guide our board of directors. Yorkton & District Community Foundation partners with the Saskatoon Community Foundation for fund management.

Time commitment is approximately two to four hours a week, but that is flexible.

The Board of Directors meet once a month for one to one and a half hours. Currently these are virtual meetings due to the pandemic.

Various committees of the Board meet as needed to do the hands-on work.  Our committees are:

• Donor Relations Committee responsible for developing donor base, relationship with donors and legacy partners;
• Grants Process Committee responsible for potential applicants/recipient relationships, and the annual grant application process;
• Governance Committee responsible for board structure, board member application and replacement process, policy development, and municipal and partner agency relationships;
• Communications Committee responsible for development and management of all forms of communications.
